It strives to create a better world by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people. NATIONAL SUMMER GAMES GENÈVE 2018 – More than 1600 athletes, passionate competitions in 13 sports and a genuine Olympic spirit will make the Games unique – fans, volunteers and visitors will be overwhelmed by the joy and determination of these athletes. An attractive side program with Opening and Closing Ceremony, with an Olympic Village in the heart of Geneva and with an exclusive athletes’ evening will make this event unforgettable for all the participants, fans and family. GUIDED TOUR FOR UN EMPLOYEES EXCLUSIVELY – We are pleased to show you around. Visit the different venues and watch the variety of sports and competitions. An English-speaking guide will give you some background on Special Olympics, our sports philosophy and our athletes. The tour will last about 3 hours and will be held at the following dates: Friday, May 25th, 14.00 and Saturday, May 26th, 10.00. Meeting point: Special Olympics Booth, Plainpalais, Geneva, no inscription needed
INDIVIDUAL TOUR DURING THE GAMES – You can stroll around, visit competitions and cheer for our athletes at any time during the Games. No accreditation is needed for a free visit. The competitions take place from May 25th to May 27th during day time. You will find more details here.
FEEL THE EMOTIONS AS A VOLUNTEER – You would like to be in the heart of the action? Then you’re more than welcome to participate as a volunteer, for example by awarding medals during the ceremonies. You can register here to become a volunteer.
JOIN THE TORCH – The Final Torch Run, a beautiful tradition in the forefront of the Games, will lead from Bern (13.5.) to Geneva (24.5.) and will make a stop in 10 cities of the French speaking part of Switzerland. Would you like to join the Final Torch Run? Then run with us from Versoix to the Place des Nations on May 20th, from 8.30 to 10.00 am to show your solidarity with people with intellectual disabilities.
