A festive ceremony was held in Sion to officially send off the Swiss delegation. In front of enthusiastic guests, family members, and partners, Team Switzerland was introduced and celebrated. Those present extended their best wishes to the joyfully excited athletes for the World Winter Games in Turin.
The greetings were particularly moving: Federal Councillor Viola Amherd addressed encouraging words to the delegation, which pleased and honored both athletes and coaches. Another highlight was the video message from ski stars Marco Odermatt and Beat Feuz, who wished the athletes every success and motivated the team to give their all in Turin.
The journey to Turin begins on March 7, with the magnificent opening ceremony following on March 8. March 9 offers a final opportunity for training before the divisionings and competitions begin.
