Our Sports Program

Special Olympics promotes movement, play, and sports for people with intellectual disabilities. The offerings include

  • competitions in over 20 summer and winter sports, which give all people the opportunity to participate and succeed;
  • the preparation and support of delegations for international competitions and World Games, to enable unique moments of success and sustainable development for the athletes.
  • Movement and networking events for people with intellectual disabilities
  • the promotion of regular training opportunities within the structures of regular sports clubs

Joy in the challenge of competition
Our competitions offer people with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to regularly compete in over 20 sports – and thanks to our unique sports philosophy, to have a fair chance at success. Week after week, athletes from all over Switzerland compete and share their joy in sports.

Games

Great sporting events in Switzerland
Every two years, our National Games bring together hundreds of athletes, volunteers, and fans. In addition to the competitions, the focus is on meeting, joy, and participation. The Regional Games take place annually and create proximity to the community in a region on a smaller scale.
