Positive signals for Swiss sport

Special Olympics Switzerland expressly welcomes the Switzerland 2038 project. The Games offer a great opportunity to strengthen sport in Switzerland in a sustainable way and to make its unifying power visible.

Major international events inspire the public, support young talent and create lasting momentum for sports structures, volunteering and social cohesion. They send a strong message about the importance of physical activity, fairness and togetherness.

In 2029, the Special Olympics World Winter Games will be a global sporting highlight in Switzerland. This event for people with intellectual disabilities clearly shows the positive impact that international sports events can have – for the athletes, for Switzerland as a sporting destination and for society as a whole.

We are convinced: projects like these strengthen Swiss sport in the long term and leave a lasting, inspiring impact.
