Special Olympics Switzerland is pleased to welcome top Swiss figure skater Lukas Britschgi as its new ambassador. With the 2025 European Champion, our movement gains not only one of Switzerland’s most successful winter athletes, but also a dedicated supporter who shares the values of Special Olympics.
Lukas Britschgi has been a member of the Swiss elite national Figure Skating team for years. His greatest achievements include the 2025 European Championship title, the bronze medal at the 2023 European Championships, sixth place at the 2024 World Championships, and six Swiss national titles. With his commitment, Lukas Britschgi sends a strong signal for equal opportunities in sports. Especially with a view to the further expansion of Figure Skating within Special Olympics Switzerland, his support is of great importance. As a prominent ambassador, he will help to make people with intellectual disabilities and their athletic achievements more visible and to spread enthusiasm for Figure Skating. Lukas Britschgi’s motivation for this commitment: “Sport connects people, builds self-confidence, and gives athletes the opportunity to grow beyond themselves. I am committed to Special Olympics because every athlete deserves the chance to be seen, supported, and celebrated.”
We are proud to welcome Lukas Britschgi to the Special Olympics family and look forward to working together.
