Health Congress 2026: Together for greater health equity

At the first Health Congress hosted by Special Olympics Switzerland, people with intellectual disabilities, healthcare professionals and other interested participants came together to share experiences, learn from one another and discuss practical solutions.

The congress marks an important milestone in the continued expansion of our Health area. The many perspectives and ideas showed just how much potential lies in collaboration between different stakeholders. In this context, building “Healthy Athletes” in Switzerland is of particular importance. As part of the congress, “Opening Eyes”, one of a total of seven health programmes, was presented and initial screening tests were carried out. “Healthy Athletes” is a free preventive health programme from Special Olympics International for participants in the World Games.

A heartfelt thank-you to all participants, speakers, partners and contributors who made these days possible.

Special thanks go to our long-standing partner Johnson & Johnson in Switzerland, which has supported the development of the Health programme from the very beginning.
