Important debate in the National Council

National Council debates Inclusion Initiative in Parliament

On September 16 and 21, 2026, the National Council will debate the Inclusion Initiative and the indirect counter-proposal. This marks an important political milestone for the inclusion of people with disabilities in Switzerland.

This debate is also of great importance to Special Olympics Switzerland, because our vision is to harness the power of sport to create an inclusive world in which people with intellectual disabilities can lead active, healthy and fulfilling lives.

The Association for an Inclusive Switzerland and the initiative committee will follow the debate directly at the Federal Palace, seek dialogue with members of the Council, and bring in the perspectives of people with disabilities.
