The tennis tournament in Sion/VS took place on September 12, 2026.
The Special Olympics tennis tournament took place under ideal conditions thanks to beautiful weather. The day brought together 26 athletes, accompanied by 12 coaches and supported by 40 volunteers, whose commitment contributed greatly to the success of the event.
The awards ceremony was held in the presence of the President of Sion and the Minister of Sports of Sion, highlighting the importance of this sporting and inclusive event. Jonathan Grept, Sport Coordinator SOSWI, was also present. All three had the pleasure and honor of presenting the medals to our athletes.
The event took place without any incidents or injuries and was expertly led by our sports official Francesca. An exceptional atmosphere prevailed throughout the day, marked by fair play, conviviality, and many smiles.
On the logistics side, 80 meals were served, consisting of a salad and lasagna. We shared this meal together in the beautiful setting of the Domaine des Îles.
At the end of this wonderful day, participants, supervisors, volunteers, and guests left happy, with the shared feeling of having experienced a remarkable sporting and human moment.
