Alpine Skiing

In the sport of Alpine Skiing, Special Olympics Switzerland offers the disciplines Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Super-G. The sport requires athletes to have a certain level of technique, balance, and quick reactions to adapt to the changing conditions of the course and track.

Competition Format

  • In competitions, a distinction is made between two levels (Intermediate and Advanced).
  • The levels differ in the length of the race track, the steepness, and the difficulty of the set course.
  • Alpine Skiing is an established and popular sport at Special Olympics Switzerland.

Special Olympics Switzerland is also invited to international competitions and World Games. We forward invitations to international events to athletes and sports groups who are active with us. Further information can be found under International Competitions and World Games.

Through a cooperation with Swiss Ski, the development of Cross Country Skiing in Switzerland for people with intellectual disabilities is supported by the association.
