Figure Skating has been an official sport at Special Olympics Switzerland since 2025 and is continuously being developed with a view to the World Winter Games 2029 in Switzerland. At the 2025 World Games, Switzerland was represented for the first time with two athletes in singles. In addition to singles, there is also ice dancing and pair skating. Both disciplines are also possible as Unified Sports®.

Competition Format

• The athletes compete at different levels, each containing different compulsory elements.
• Competitions in Switzerland for Special Olympics athletes are held in a separate category within the regular competitions of Swiss Ice Skating.

Special Olympics Switzerland is also invited to international competitions and the World Games. We forward invitations to events abroad to athletes and sports groups who are active with us. Further information can be found under International Competitions and World Games.
