    Team Switzerland Turin 2025 – an Unforgettable Conclusion in Interlaken

    What remains after a major sporting event like the World Winter Games Turin 2025? For Team Switzerland: experiences for life. Last weekend, the entire Swiss delegation came together in Interlaken – for a final, worthy review of an eventful journey.

    The host was LOWA, who opened their doors for the athletes and coaches. During the joint lunch in the Schalander Hall at Rugenbräu AG, those present reminisced, exchanged anecdotes, and celebrated the sense of community that made this delegation so special. In the subsequent review with film and the most important Facts & Figures, the highlights of the Games came to life once again: the sporting successes, the emotional moments, the great togetherness. There was laughter, applause, and a final celebration together – because all participants gained experiences that go far beyond sport.

    A big thank you to everyone who made this journey possible – and to a team that represented Switzerland in Italy with courage, joy and heart.

    Top Performances, Team Spirit, Emotions: a Brilliant Conclusion to the Games

    After intense and emotional days of competition, the Special Olympics flag was ceremoniously handed over in snow-covered Sestriere to Chile, which will host the next World Games in 2027.

    Team Switzerland can be proud! The athletes gave their best in every competition or match. They trained hard, faced the challenges, and showed full commitment even in sometimes adverse weather conditions and icy cold. The medal count is outstanding, but even more valuable are the experiences, the new friendships, and the countless goosebump moments. Even the athletes who are returning home without a medal have achieved great things and can be incredibly proud of themselves.

    Team Switzerland Shines at the World Winter Games!

    In the final days of the World Winter Games, the 39 athletes of Team Switzerland have done great things. Whether in floorball, dancing, on the ice or in the snow – they all outdid themselves and gave their best.

    They were rewarded with well-deserved medals or the achievement of personal goals, with enthusiastic fans who loudly supported them, as well as with new friendships and unforgettable experiences. The Games are not only a sporting highlight, but also a time full of emotions, personal successes, and impressive moments.

    Today, a few last finals and medal celebrations will take place, and in the late afternoon, the athletes will be duly celebrated one last time at the closing ceremony before the 102 delegations travel back to all corners of the world.

    Swiss Night – an Evening Full of Emotions and a Glimpse of 2029

    Last night, Coca-Cola Switzerland and the World Winter Games Switzerland 2029 invited athletes, coaches, families, and partners to a special Swiss Night. The focus of the evening was on the athletes, who were celebrated for their impressive performances over the past few days. In an interview with Head of Delegation Aldo Doninelli, they emphasized how proud they are to represent Switzerland and what unforgettable moments they have already experienced.

    The guests were particularly impressed by the presence of two guests of honor: Stefano Lazzarotto, Consul General of Switzerland in Milan, and Mary Davis, CEO of Special Olympics International, addressed moving words to those present and congratulated the athletes on their success.

    Another highlight of the evening was a short panel discussion with Reyn ffoulkes, Director Communications Austria & Switzerland of Coca-Cola, Bruno Barth, President of the World Winter Games 2029, and Louis Kleemeyer, founder of Unique United. They took a first look at the World Winter Games 2029, which will take place in Switzerland, and spoke about the central role of sports and their goals to create a more inclusive world.

    After the official part, the guests enjoyed delicious Piedmontese specialties and celebrated exuberantly with rousing music. An unforgettable evening that further strengthened the enthusiasm for the sport and the anticipation for the upcoming games!

    We are already excited about the first medal winners in Snowboarding, while the other sports were still in the training or divisioning phase. Today, however, athletes from Team Switzerland are in the finals in almost all sports. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for everyone and congratulating them now on their great performances so far!

    Team Switzerland is Ready for the World Winter Games Turin 2025

    The 68-member Swiss delegation has successfully completed its final joint preparations for the World Games in Villars-sur-Ollon in excellent weather conditions. The four-day delegation camp included intensive training, the simulation of competition situations, and the fitting of official sports and delegation outfits. Now all athletes, coaches and staff members are well prepared – not only in terms of sports, but also as a strong team. The delegation has grown closely together over the last four days and is now ready for the adventure.

    Now, there are just under 6 weeks of individual training at home before the team is officially bid farewell on March 6 in Sion.

    A particular highlight for the athletes was the presence of numerous media representatives on site, who reported on the camp and the preparations.

    Technique, Freestyle, and Fitness – Holistic Training Sessions in Villars

    Today, the 39 athletes of the Swiss delegation were also extremely active: The training for the skiers and snowboarders consisted of a ski race with another approximately 40 athletes from all over Switzerland. The floorball team was able to demonstrate their skills during a friendly match. The dance duo and the ice sports athletes honed both their technique and their show, and the cross-country and snowshoe team improved their fitness with intensive sessions.

    Swiss Television was again on site and accompanied various athletes during their training sessions. The segment in SRF Sportpanorama will be broadcast on Sunday, December 19. The report from RSI will also be shown this Sunday in the program “Domenica Sportiva”.

    First Impressions from the Training Camp in Villars

    The 39 athletes of Team Switzerland trained hard today in all sports – Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding, Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing, Dance Sport, Floorball, Figure Skating, and Speed Skating. The snowshoers were particularly in focus, as RTS was on site to shoot a report about them. The athletes practiced the start, among other things, so as not to lose valuable hundredths of a second at the beginning of the race. They also practiced getting up quickly and independently should they fall during the run.

    The report on RTS will be broadcast on February 2 in the Tagesschau.

    Team Switzerland Prepares – Training Camp in Villars

    The entire Team Switzerland for the World Games Turin 2025 will meet from January 16-19 for the second and final training camp in Villars-sur-Ollon. The athletes and coaches will refine their technique and be attuned to the competition situations they need to be prepared for at the World Winter Games. These will take place from March 8-15, 2025 in Turin, Bardonecchia, Pragelato and Sestriere.

    Switzerland is represented by a delegation of 68 and will compete in the sports of Alpine skiing, Snowboarding, Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing, Floorball, dancing, Figure Skating and speed skating.

    On the first day, the delegation members will receive their equipment, learn further details about the World Games, and will bond as a team during a first cozy dinner. Training sessions will take place in all disciplines on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
