Basketball is a dynamic team sport. It is the only sport at Special Olympics Switzerland that is held as a national championship. Basketball requires skill, coordination, and team spirit.
Competition Format
- The competitions are held in championship mode in five leagues. Team registration is possible until September. The division into leagues takes place after the divisioning at the beginning of the season.
- The championship format includes multiple tournament days per league, culminating in a joint final tournament.
- Basketball is one of the most widespread Special Olympics sports in Switzerland.
Special Olympics Switzerland is also invited to international competitions and the World Games. We forward invitations to events abroad to sports groups that are active with us. Further information can be found under International Competitions and World Games.
Through a cooperation with Swiss Basketball, the association specifically supports and promotes the development of Basketball in Switzerland for people with cognitive impairment.
